Race Report #1

The Fat Tire massive mountain bike season Presented by ONE Communications, had an EPIC start this Sunday with over 100 racers taking on the sexy flowing curves of the south shore beach trails.

The battle of the day was in the top class, Open 60 with a 35 man field. Chequan Richardson and Brian Steinhoff pulled ahead of the huge surge on the start and by the second lap it was a two man race. Meanwhile, top marathon runner, Kavin Smith, had an early mishap that caused him to spend the entire race catching up from almost last. On the penultimate lap, Chequan made a huge surge that Brian could not hold off, giving Chequan the win. Right at the end, Kevin passed Brian to take second.
