Boys leads Winners Edge podium sweep at Southside criterium

Matt Boys led a Winners Edge sweep of the overall podium in the combined A/B race at the Winners Edge Criterium on Sunday, 13 September, as 33 riders competed across three races at the Motorsports Park in Southside, St David’s.
Dry roads, warm conditions and a light breeze greeted the riders, with racing for the A, B, C, Women’s and 12 & Under categories.
Boys completed 38 laps in 37 minutes 51 seconds, with teammate Dylan Eiselt taking second in the same time. Wayne Scott crossed the line third overall in 38:02, also securing the B category win.
Alexander Miller finished fourth overall to complete the A category top three behind Boys and Eiselt. Jens Drea placed fifth overall and second in B, while Jonah MacGuinness rounded out the B category podium.
Winners Edge also claimed the first three places in the combined C/Women’s race. Frank Ming took the victory after 24 laps in 27:35, finishing one second ahead of Ricky Smith and Mark Hatherley. Spencer Haldeman and Peter Tadman finished fourth and fifth, both recording the same time as Smith and Hatherley.
Naomi MacGuinness led the Women’s category, completing 23 laps in 28:16. Riana Robinson finished second in 28:34, followed by Kelise Wade in 28:39. Zara Bule completed the women’s field in fourth.
Seven young riders lined up for the 12 & Under race, taking a neutral lap before racing to familiarise themselves with the circuit. Austen Carr claimed the win ahead of Isaac Wookey and Lukas Eiselt, with all three completing 16 laps. Niklas Bock and Joshua Cann finished fourth and fifth, also on 16 laps, followed by Calvin Haldeman and Feargal Murphy, who each completed 14.
