Bermuda Claims Gold, Silver and Bronze at Caribbean Elite Time Trial Championships

Bermuda’s cyclists delivered outstanding performances at today’s Caribbean Elite Time Trial Championships, claiming two podium finishes in the men’s event and a bronze in the women’s race.

Nicholas Narraway stormed to victory in his first year competing in the Elite category, taking gold and becoming the only rider to complete the 32.5 km course in under 40 minutes. Narraway stopped the clock at 39:25 (53.58 km/h average), securing Bermuda’s top step of the podium ahead of teammate Conor White, the defending champion, who finished second with a time of 40:12. Puerto Rico’s Christopher Morales rounded out the men’s podium, taking third in 41:17.
In the Elite Women’s 20.9 km event, Bermuda’s Gabriella Arnold earned bronze, finishing third behind Teniel Campbell of Trinidad & Tobago, who claimed gold, and Llori Sharpe of Jamaica, who took silver.
“It’s a fantastic day for Bermuda cycling,” said BBA President Peter Dunne. “To see Nic step up to the elite ranks and win in such dominant fashion, with Conor right behind him and Gabby back on the podium, speaks volumes about the depth of talent we’re developing.”
Team Manager Peter Dunne and Dominique Mayho (team mechanic) provided on-the-ground support for the riders in Belize, ensuring a smooth and successful competition.
Tomorrow, attention turns to the Caribbean Elite Road Race, where Bermuda’s riders will be joined by Kaden Hopkins and will line up against the region’s best. The road race starts and finishes in front of the MIRAB Furniture Gallery in Belize City.
The course is fast and exposed, featuring long, flat stretches that test power and endurance more than climbing. Riders roll out toward Ladyville, turning through Airport and John Smith Roads before crossing toward Mile 8 Community and joining the George Price Highway, where strong crosswinds often play a decisive role.
The circuit continues along the Hattieville Boom Road and Philip Goldson Highway, looping back to Airport Junction. The women will complete two laps (108 km) and the men three (156 km) — a course that rewards smart pacing, teamwork, and grit in the tropical heat.
