Sunday’s VT Construction Criterium closed out a busy weekend of racing in Hamilton, bringing riders of all ages to the start line. Race director Dominique Mayho, with timing by Peter Dunne and officiating from Nigel Godfrey, ensured smooth competition across multiple categories.
A Category & B Category
In the A/B race, it was a clean sweep for Winner’s Edge at the top: Matt Boys claimed the overall victory after 27 laps, edging out teammate Dylan Eiselt, with both crossing in the same time. The B category was led by veteran Darren Glasford, also of Winner’s Edge, finishing ahead of BRCC’s Sam Bullen.
C Category & Women's Category
The C/W race delivered tight group racing, with Jens Drea (VT Construction) sprinting to the win. He was closely followed by BRCC duo Neil and Jonah MacGuinness, with a strong showing from Tracy Wright and Paulo Medeiros of Winner’s Edge in the top five. Among the women, Sofia Leclerc (VT Construction) and Riana Robinson both put in determined rides.
Youth Categories
In the youth categories, Ronan Davadge took top honours in the 13/14 age group, while Maxwell Williams won the 12 & Under division. He was joined on the podium by Carter Davis and Fergus Murphy, with spirited rides from a full field of young cyclists rounding out the day.
The BBA thanks VT Construction for their support of the event, and all the marshals, volunteers, and riders who made the criterium a success.
