Bermuda Junior Cycling Road Race

Bermuda Junior Cycling (BJC) Road Race brought out a strong field of competitors and a well-run event on the scenic South Shore course. With a start and finish at Gulfstream Restaurant in Southampton, riders took on a challenging loop that included climbs up Lighthouse Hill and fast stretches along Middle and South Roads. Each lap included the steep ascent of Lighthouse Hill, a noticeable climb that proved to be the breaking factor for many riders and shaped the dynamics of both races.

Category A&B – 4 Laps / 36.4 miles

In the combined A&B category, Conor White (Muck-Off-SRT-Stork)  took top honours in 1:28:55, edging out a tight sprint finish among Bermuda’s elite riders. Kaden Hopkins (Uni Sport Lamentinois) and Matt Boys (Winners Edge) rounded out the podium, with Nic Narraway (Tenerife–Bike Point–La Sede) and Jackson Langley (VT Construction) close behind.

Category C & Women – 3 Laps / 27.3 miles

Gianluca Bortoli (Independent) led the C/W race with a time of 1:16:53, followed by Daniel Ringer (Winners Edge) and Neil MacGuinness (BRCC) in a tightly packed group sprint. Naomi MacGuinness led the women’s field with a strong solo ride, tackling the repeated Lighthouse climb with grit.

Huge thanks to Race Director Peter Dunne, Race Official Randy Smith, and the volunteer team including Anna Moniz, Helen Millington, and all marshals!
