The Bermuda Bicycle Association is proud to announce the five-rider national team representing Bermuda at the 2026 Caribbean Junior Road Cycling Championships in Belize.
The championships bring together leading young cyclists from across the region, with the programme running from August 20 to 24. The individual time trial will take place on Saturday, August 22, followed by the road race on Sunday, August 23.
Bermuda will be represented by:
Junior Men
Jacob Wright – individual time trial and road race
Keon Stevens – individual time trial and road race
Juvenile Men
Jonah MacGuinness – road race
Dylan Eiselt – individual time trial and road race
Jens Drea – individual time trial and road race
The riders will be supported by Darren Glasford, Chequan Richardson and Peter Dunne.
Wright and Stevens return for their second consecutive championships after making their debuts in Barbados in 2025. MacGuinness, Eiselt and Drea will make their first appearances at the regional competition.
Wright earned bronze in last year’s Juvenile Men’s individual time trial before producing an aggressive performance in the road race. Stevens also gained valuable international experience during his championship debut, which marked his first competition outside Bermuda.
“This is an exciting team that combines returning championship experience with three riders competing at this level for the first time,” said Peter Dunne, President of the Bermuda Bicycle Association.
“Representing Bermuda at a regional championship is an important step in a young rider’s development. We are looking forward to seeing each of them embrace the opportunity, support one another and compete with determination.”
The time trial will be held on Boom Road. The Junior Men will race over 20 kilometres, while the Juvenile Men will complete a 15-kilometre course.
The road race will take place on a circuit along the Philip Goldson Highway. The Junior Men will complete 12 laps covering 93.6 kilometres, while the Juvenile Men will race eight laps over 62.4 kilometres.
Before racing begins, Bermuda’s riders will join the other participating nations for the official national team presentation on Friday, August 21, at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza.
International competition is an important part of our junior development pathway. It gives young riders the opportunity to represent Bermuda, develop their racing experience and test themselves against the Caribbean’s emerging cycling talent.
